Live Performance in Progress

Picture
This was one of Carter Albrecht's last performances before we was tragically killed, no thanks to Chantrix, the drug that should be banned by the FDA. Carter was one of the the talented musicians in the band "Sorta", for which I was painting a series of paintings (as seen on each screen) reflecting one of the 33 songs in their set list this night. The finished painting, which was in essence a palimpsest, was sold before the last note rang to a lucky audience member.

I AM.

Another performance painting started at 9:40 pm ~ finished at 9:48 ~ during the "I Am Here" exhibition at Southside on Lamar in Dallas ~ May 29, 2009. The show was put on by the Dallas Independent Artists Association, for which all Dallas artists are proxy members. They just gotta bring it. © 2009 ~ Kevin Obregon

Lady Blu

Picture
Lady Blu was a performance painting at Off The Grid in Dallas. I was invited by Fahamu Pecou to paint at the Sol Fusion gig in south Dallas. Some of the most beautiful soul people in D-town were there. "Twas an honor. More to come, no doubt.
